I have an old Maremma dog who gets an itchy skin condition, he scratches and makes bald patches. I have used the Itchy Bark on him and it really works. It makes him more comfortable and the hair is growing back. I would recommend this product to anyone who has similar problems with their dogs. It smells great too! My 12 year old female Stafford recently had a skin infection (suspected spider bite) which resulted in her losing rather large amount of fur in one spot. Coco Kaboo suggested that I try Itchy Bark. I was skeptical, but she was bald, and had been for over 6 weeks! I used the tiniest amount and applied it only a couple of times. I was surprised that less than 10 days later we could see little hairs starting to grow back and within 3 weeks the hair had grown back completely. We are now massaging it all over her coat as she has multiple environmental allergies which has resulted in Alopecia. Her fur is slowly getting thicker and no longer feels coarse like it used to. Its incredible! My fur baby had a red itchy belly, chest and under his chin, in just a few days of using the Itchy Bark Oil it was already almost gone! I have continued to use the oil on him daily – when I stop using it, his rash comes back as he is reacting to something and I don’t know what. He loves the massage every night and lets me know when I forget.

My 14yr old Maltese who has chewed and licked her feet for the 4 years I’ve had her.
She runs like crazy in circles when I spray it on (I find the nozzle hard to use) and then she quiets down but is still licking?
It does smell nice but I’m not sure it’s the answer that I was looking for.

We generally recommend that you spray the product on your hands and massage it in as many dogs do have a fear of being sprayed. We had to design the noozle to be a fine spray because being oil we didn’t want it going everywhere, however we can understand your comments.
If she has been licking her paws for over 4yrs there could be a number of reasons:
1 They have an actual allergy to something in their environmental, food or even the cleaning products you use. – To establish whether your dog has an actual allergy your vet can carry out allergy testing. This could cost around $125.
2. It could be fear related (e.g. loud noises, new people, new pets brought into the house, a change in routine or separation) or age related as some dogs develop anxiety as they get older due to a decline in thinking, learning and memory. – We have a product called Calm Companion that works on the central nervous system and may help with this.
3.When a dog doesn’t produce the required thyroid hormones in cases of hypothyroidism (too little) and hyperthyroidism (too much).
Dogs are more likely to lick exposed skin which results in more common lick granulomas. Lick granulomas can become large in size and appear like open wounds. Whilst a dog’s instinct is to lick a wound, and we know their saliva has antibacterial properties that can aid healing, there is fine line between allowing them to keep a wound clean and actually making it worse. – it is often best to keep a lick granuloma covered so it can heal. – Often when the hormone imbalance is treated, licking behaviour will stop.
4. And finally comfort. Just like a child sucking their thumb some dogs really enjoying grooming themselves and this in turn can become obsessive on the paws because they are easy to reach, If this is the case then we recommend using Itchy Bark in conjunction with distraction technics, We know first hand from using it on ourselves that the “Itchness” is going within around 20mins after application. So if they are licking after that, it’s very lickely comfort licking or extreme yeast infection which can be identified as per point #1.
We really hope that you get some relief from our tips. While we are a business our priority is always the health of the dogs. Our best to you both, And thank you again for your review.

The smell is nice. Diesel lays there and expects a masssge he loves it. I put it on all hit spots, even on his ears where the flies sit (flies I fine eat his ears, till it blesses) that has stoped. With I. Few days u can see It gets better

Read about this product on a staffy site and thought i would try it. My 12 month old boy gets rashy all underneath and itchy so i started on the itchy bark, it has definately settled it down. First off i dont think he liked the smell and i had to try grab him but i think he realizes how much better it makes him feel so he comes to me to put it on now. I have stopped using Neocort( was using this daily) which is definately a bonus. Very happy with this product 😊

If you are able to keep him indoors please feel free to use it twice a day for as long as you need too. If he is an out door dog then obviously just at night as we don’t want him having an increased chance of getting sunburned because of the coconut oil. Another trick if he is normally an outdoor dog, Try keeping him in on the weekends so that you can double the doses, morning and night on those days, Friday night, Saturday Morning, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning and then Sunday Night.

I have been putting it on my 9 year old staffy for a year now and i’m so happy to have found an alternative to steroids and antibiotics which is what we thought was the only option for his itchy sore red skin – that is UNTIL I tried this Itchy Bark Dermatitis Treatment spray! It is worth it’s weight in gold. A natural alternative that works better than steroids and antibiotics combined. My boy also loves to be sprayed with it, he lays down legs in the air and it sends him into a trance… so soothing and relaxing. The best dog product i have ever used.

After just applying it twice we noticed a big difference in our girls skin and now we wouldn’t go without it. Our girl is relieved from the itchiness and redness and is much more happy. Love it. Cleared up my girls red raw foot after 2 days.

Paws are one of the hardest things to clear up, because just like our human babies sucking their thumbs, they get comfort out of it too.
So our hat off to you too, as I am sure you had a lot to do with apply it as we advise and being willing to give something “All Natural” a go.
If you happened to have any before and after photos we really would appreciate a copy if we could. If you don’t then we would just love a photo of your little girl so we can add her to our “Wall of Wags”.
I think we all love seeing the faces of furbabies that are no longer in pain or having to deal with allergies.

We heard about Itchy Bark online and everyone had said how it worked wonders for their fur babies so we thought we would give it a go. After just applying it twice we noticed a big difference in our girls skin and now we wouldn’t go without it. Our girl is relieved from the itchiness and redness and is much more happy. I would be happy to recommend this product to anyone.

We would love to put your review up because it is so lovely but the system seems to have just picked up two stars. You are not the first, we get this issue in at least 1 in 5 of our reviews. When people thing they are putting up 4 or 5 starts it just comes up with 2.
We have no idea why and no one in IT seems to be able to tell us why so we could work to fix it. Which then leaves us to have to ask you if you would consider changing it. Giving you extra work to do after you have already been so kind to write it in the first place.
As you are aware, most people look at products based on Star Ratings first and foremost and then look at the actually comments.
Is there any chance you would considering reviewing your two star rating? I feel terrible asking after you have just written such a lovely review as I said. But I am sure you understand our reason why.
